TriLyte® with flavor packs is contraindicated in patients known to be hypersensitive to any of the components and in patients with ileus, gastrointestinal obstruction, gastric retention, bowel perforation, toxic colitis or toxic megacolon. No additional ingredients should be added to the solution. Use with caution in patients with severe ulcerative colitis. Use in children younger than 2 years of age should be carefully monitored for occurrence of possible hypoglycemia. Nausea, abdominal fullness and bloating are the most common adverse reactions to administration of TriLyte® with flavor packs. Published literature contains isolated reports of serious adverse reactions in patients over 60 years of age.

For patients
Be sure to tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of the ingredients of Trilyte® with flavor packs, or if you have a serious issue with your stomach or bowels. Nothing should be added to the bottle besides one flavor pack of your choosing and water (to the 4 liter marking on the bottle). Children younger than 2 years of age should be carefully watched because their blood sugar level can drop when using Trilyte® with flavor packs. Nausea, abdominal fullness, and bloating are the most common side effects when using Trilyte® with flavor packs. There have been rare reports of serious side effects in patients older than 60 years of age.
